Paranal solar Espresso Telescope
PoET Science Team

The PoET project is led by its PI (N. Santos - IA/Univ. Porto) and its science activities are coordinated by a Science Team (Chair: Ângela Santos - IA and CEA). This Science Team is organized into 3 different working groups:

  • WP1: Radial Velocities

Lead: João Faria (Univ. Geneva), André Silva (IA/U. Porto)

The main goal of this WG is to exploit PoET data to better understand and model stellar noise in high-precision radial velocity time series.

  • WP2: Exoplanet Atmospheres

Lead: Heather Cegla (Univ. Warwick), William Dethier (IA/U. Porto)

This WG mostly focuses on exploring the effects of stellar physics in the extraction of exoplanet atmosphere signatures using high-resolution transmission spectroscopy.

  • WP3: Solar and Stellar Physics

Lead: Ricardo Gafeira (IA/Univ. Coimbra), Hans-Peter Doerr (Thüringer Landessternwarte Tautenburg)

This WG explores the use unique set of PoET data to tackle state-of-the-art solar and stellar physics problems.

All Science Team members of PoET can submit proposals for specific observations using the Proposal interface.
Observation reports can be submitted using the Observation interface.
